Tottenham vs Man Utd: Maguire reveals ‘big discussions’ ahead of EPL clash

Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire, has revealed there was an inquest into their 5-0 thrashing in the hands of Liverpool on Sunday.

The result left manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clinging to his job, with senior officials at Old Trafford meeting to discuss his sack earlier this week.

It has now emerged that the players too held a meeting and there was a frank exchange with the coaching staff.

The squad discussed what they believe is going wrong and how they can solve their problems.

Midfielder Paul Pogba is understood to have apologised to colleagues for getting a red card in the match. He will miss Saturday’s trip to Tottenham as he starts a three match ban.

“It’s a tough one to move on from but we need to move on.

“It’s been a tough week obviously, you can’t just brush these things aside, especially when you lose to your rivals. To lose in the manner that we did was so disappointing.

“We’ve obviously had big discussions, we’ve analysed the game and the goals and looked at how we can do better and improve,” Maguire told the club’s website.
