Man Utd vs Liverpool: Gary Neville advises Solskjaer on team selection for EPL clash

Former Manchester United captain, Gary Neville, has said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should not select the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Jesse Lingard when the Red Devils clash with Liverpool on October 24 at Old Trafford.

According to Neville, Solskjaer cannot have the likes of Edinson Cavani, Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba all sat on the bench, watching McTominay, Fred and Lingard playing on the pitch against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Neville said this ahead of Man United’s Champions League clash with Atalanta on Wednesday.

Speaking with Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, on Sky Sports, Neville said, “If he backs off and plays McTominay, Lingard and Fred and plays what would be a more pragmatic team he’s almost saying to those big players who are world-class, the likes of Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Varane and all these players that he’s brought in that I don’t trust you in the big games because I have got to play the dogs.

“I don’t think he can do that. I just don’t see how he can think he can go and drop these players.

“He can’t have Cavani, Sancho, Pogba all sat on the bench watching McTominay, Fred and others.”

Man United currently sit in the 6th position on the Premier League table with 14 points from eight games.
