Arteta gives update on Saka, Lacazette ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Aston Villa

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has provided the latest update on Bukayo Saka and Alex Lacazette ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Friday at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal head to the game following a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace in their last game.

Arteta’s side are currently in the 12th position on the Premier League table with 11 points from eight games.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Arteta said, “He [Saka] hasn’t trained yet, so again we have to assess him today and see how he is.

“I am not a betting man and it is down to the doctors and himself to see how he recovers and how he feels when he trains today and tomorrow.”

On Lacazette, Arteta added, “Keep doing what he’s doing, he had a good impact as well when he came on against Brighton and he is a player since I have been here, has played a lot, has been really important and will continue to be important.”

The kick-off time for Arsenal vs Aston Villa is 9 pm.
