Andorra vs England: UEFA takes decision on Saturday’s game after fire incident

 

UEFA has confirmed that the game between Andorra and England on Saturday will go ahead despite the fire incident that damaged the broadcast gantry, dugouts and small section of the pitch at the Estadi Nacional, Sky Sports reports.

On Friday, a major fire broke out at the Estadi Nacional, where Andorra are set to tackle England in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze as the fire crew helped to put out the fire.

Meanwhile, providing an update on the fire incident, an Andorra Football Federation spokesperson said: “As we all know there has been a small accident and a fire.

“No personal harm has been reported, only material damages and the schedule will continue as foreseen. No changes there (with) press conference and training.

“There has been an official statement given by our minister of sport and the president of the federation. The match will be played.”

The kick-off time for Andorra vs England match is 7:45 pm.
