Kelechi Iheanacho’s wonder strike against Millwall in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game has been nominated for the competition’s Goal of Round Three.

This was revealed on the EFL website on Friday.

The Super Eagles striker scored his first goal of the season as the Foxes defeated Millwall 2-0 at the Den stadium.

Iheanacho, unleashed a fierce shot into the roof of the net to double the advantage two minutes from time.

The Nigerian forward faces competition from Brentford’s Yoanne Wissa, Phil Foden from Manchester City, Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, and Cheltenham Town’s Kyle Vassell for the award.

The strike against the Lions was his ninth in the Carabao Cup since making his debut in the competition against Crystal Palace in October 2015 and has gone on to make 16 appearances with twelve of them in the colours of Leicester.
