Europa League: Michael Owen predicts Legia Warsaw vs Leicester City, West Ham, Rangers, other games

Former Real Madrid striker, Michael Owen, has predicted the outcomes of some of Thursday’s UEFA Europa League group stage games.

Legia Warsaw will host Leicester City at home in a Europa League clash.

Rangers will face Sparta Prague in an away Europa League fixture.

Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor, “Leicester are creating chances but are letting in too many goals at the minute. After blowing a two-goal lead to Napoli in their last, I would expect a response in this. It is never easy to play away from home in what will be a hostile atmosphere in Poland, but I think they can get a 2-1 win.

On the West Ham United vs Rapid Vienna game, Owen said, “West Ham continue to pick up some impressive wins under David Moyes. The 2-0 win in Zagreb in the opening game was a much better result than it sounds and I’m expecting a good performance in front of the home fans here. Those fans have waited a long time for European nights so I’m sure that the atmosphere in the stadium will be fantastic. I’m going for 2-0 West Ham.

Commenting on the Sparta Prague vs Rangers match, Owen said, “Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are yet to hit their best form this season but are still dominating domestically. They played well in spells against Lyon at Ibrox in their first game but need to take their chances when they come. They have made the last 16 in the last two seasons under Gerrard though, so I fancy them to get a draw in Prague.”
