Arsenal board take decision on sacking Arteta after 2-0 defeat to Chelsea

Arsenal’s board will continue to support manager Mikel Arteta, despite the team’s poor start to the 2021/2022 season, the UK Mirror reports.

The Gunners were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea on Sunday in their first Premier League game at the Emirates this campaign.

After the game, angry supporters surrounded Arteta’s car and called on him to leave.

Arteta is favourite with the bookies as next manager to be sacked, but Arsenal are still supporting him by trying to do business in the transfer window.

The club want to bring in a new right back on the shopping list, with Hector Bellerin keen to leave.

Lucas Torreira is a target for Fiorentina while Sead Kolasinac is set to leave and Crystal Palace are interested in Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal have spent close to £140m on five new players – Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Nuno Tavares, Albert Lokonga and Martin Odegaard – already.
