Ighalo Bags Assist In Al-shabab Win Over Al Ahli

 

Odion Ighalo was on parade for Al-Shabab in their 3 – 0 victory over Al Ahli in the Saudi Premier League.

Ighalo, who was named on the bench, was thrown into the Frey by coach Carlos Inarejos in the 79th minute for Hussain Al-Monassar.

The 31-year-old didn’t disappoint as he went on to assist his side’s third goal of the match in the 90th minute.

Ahmed Mohammed Sharahili opened the scoring for Al-Shabab in the 12th minute of the encounter following an assist from former Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega.

Despite the early lead, Al-Shabab waited untill the final 20 minutes to wrap up the game as Ever Banega created the second of the game for Alfred N’Diaye in the 79th minute.

The last goal of the game was scored by Spanish forward Cristian Guanca in the 90th off Ighalo’s assist.

Since joining the club in January, Ighalo has now been involved in three matches scoring once and providing one assist.

The win helped Al-Shabab open a 15 points lead at the summit after 20 round of matches.

Al Leith have garnered 41 points, while second placed Al Hilal have 36 points, but with a game in hand.
