Erling Haaland Has A Staggeringly Low Release Clause Of £63m At Borussia Dortmund

Erling Haaland's release clause for Borussia Dortmund has been revealed and it's a lot lower than you'd expect. Haaland only signed for Dortmund for £18 Million earlier this window.

Erling Haaland has already been tearing up the Bundesliga in the incredibly limited appearances he's already made.

In only two games in which he's only played a combined 59 minutes, Haaland has hit the net five times with a goal every 12 minutes.

The biggest surprise was the incredibly low transfer fee it took to take Haaland from RB Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund. The £18 Million deal that was sent to Salzburg doesn't include the agent fees that were reported to be higher than the actual transfer fee, but the deal is already a bargain regardless.

However, the deal's fee could be low due to the very-low release clause that would allow Haaland to leave for only £63 Million as early as 2022 according to German publication, Bild.

Haaland and his representatives were hoping to include a release clause below £42 million in the contract, but Dortmund weren't willing to meet their request, as per the report from Bild.

However the young Norwegian will remain in control of his career. In the worst case, if he wants to change before the end of the contract in 2024, Dortmund will get all the money used for Haaland back, including salary, all commissions and possible special payments.
