Greenwood Can Become The New Rooney" - Man Utd Boss Solskjaer After 4-0 Win

Manchester United Coach Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has compared youngster Mason Greenwood to club legend Wayne Rooney. Greenwood scored twice against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League last night and also secured a penalty as United qualified for the knockout stages.

Coach Solksjaer was very impressed by the youngster's performance and decided to compare him with his former teammate.

Asked, if he had seen any player just as good as Mason Greenwood at this age, Solksjaer said: "I played alongside Wazza [Rooney].

"As a natural goalscorer, he’s among the best best I have ever seen. I’m not scared of playing him in the Premier League because he's mature enough. It’s just about finding the right slot for him, he's fully ready.

“I think have said all this before, it's nothing new. Greenwood scored twice tonight and again tomorrow in training he will go more.

“He’s always done it. It’s just a natural thing for him, he’s a great and natural footballer.

“As he moves closer to the goal, the more dangerous he is. Right foot, left foot, he’s a bad nightmare for all defenders.

“I think he needs to improve his heading ability if he plans to really be a top proper striker."

Juan Mata was also happy with the team’s overall performance, impressing yet again after last week's win against Manchester City in the Manchester Derby.

"It was good. In the first half it was a little difficult for us, we failed to play with any rhythm but we changed alot in the 2nd half and it improved us, scoring four goals very quick. It's a happy night for everyone,” Mata said.

"I'm Happy to score, it's been some time since I played, though I was well prepared, I'm also very happy about the penalty but also the overall performance from the team. It's difficult not to play frequently but everyone played well."
