Argentine legend, Hugo Gatti has urged Lionel Messi to quit Barcelona and join rivals, Real Madrid to prove he is better than Ronaldo.
With the comparison between Messi and Ronaldo raging on for years, the 75-year-old claimed Messi should join Real Madrid if he is truly the greatest footballer of all time.
Messi has continued to show that there is no stopping anytime soon as he continues to put out awesome performances. He scored twice and bagged two assists in Barca’s win against Real Valladolid as Ronaldo on his own part scored the winning goal for Juventus after converting a controversial penalty kick.
According to Gatti, that still may not be enough for Messi.
Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, he said: “It seems as if I am anti-Argentine, but until Messi plays in the big games, he will continue to be a player of home games.
“He has to have balls to go to Real Madrid and prove everything there like Cristiano. Otherwise, he will be just one more [player].
“Cristiano went to the best club in the world. Messi plays at home, on his pitch with everything [that comes with that].
“Let him play in the Champions League and the World Cup, otherwise he will always be one more.
“When he plays there, he will fight with [Johan] Cruyff, [Diego] Maradona and Pele.
Messi has helped his side (Barcelona) climb to the top of La Liga table scoring five goals in his last four matches despite being held down by injury early this season.
