Arsenal’s unbeaten run ended by struggling Southampton

Arsenal’s 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions ended by struggling Southampton, in a thrilling game at the St Mary’s Stadium.

The hosts took the lead twice in the first half thanks to Ings’ double as they went into the interval 2-1 up, but poor play after the restart allowed the Gunners to force themselves back into the match.

Mkhitaryan’s two goals twice got the Gunners level – once on either side of the break – but inspired changes by Hasenhuttl late on powered his side to victory as Long and Austin combined for the winning goal – a great headed finish after a wonderful chipped cross in the 85th minute.

The result takes Southampton out of the relegation zone and into 17th, while Arsenal stay fifth!
