Chelsea could scarcely believe they were behind, nor United that they were ahead. United had looked so lost but they looked to be en route to a morale-boosting three points at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2012.
Chelsea barely created a chance in the dying moments but Mike Dean awarded six minutes of injury time and the Blues found a dramatic equaliser by throwing the kitchen sink at the United defence.
David Luiz won a header from an angled ball into the box and his effort came back off the post and into a six-yard box scramble. De Gea made an incredible stop from Rudiger to prevent an immediate goal but Ross Barkley, brought on in the dying stages, converted to maintain Chelsea’s unbeaten run.
