Lukaku speaks on facing Arsenal in Debut Game for Chelsea

Chelsea record signing, Romelu Lukaku, has spoken on the prospect of facing Arsenal in his debut game for The Blues.

The Belgian said he is ‘happy’ at the prospect of facing Mikel Arteta side in his second Chelsea debut.

The former Inter Milan striker missed the Blues’ victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend as he was still quarantining following his £97.5m transfer move from Inter Milan.

The Belgium striker scored 30 goals for Inter Milan last season to help the Italian side clinch the Serie A title.

He will now begin training with his new teammates on Tuesday and will be available in Sunday’s clash against Arsenal.

Arsenal were defeated 2-0 by newly promoted Brentford while Chelsea began their 2021-22 campaign with an impressive 3-0 win over Palace.

“I’m ready so it’s just about getting into the team and trying to prove myself to the coaches that if I’m needed, I can play,” Lukaku told Chelsea’s official website.

“We all have to compete throughout the week to earn our starting spot. For me it’s going to be a new fight but we’re all fighting for one cause – to make sure that Chelsea win.

“I’ll make sure that in training I give 100 per cent every day and make sure that I’m ready for each game.”
