Arsenal, Aubameyang react as Saka misses penalty against Italy in Euro 2020 final

Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the club have sent their support to Bukayo Saka, after his penalty miss saw Italy crowned European champions at Wembley.

On the road to the final, Saka became a fans’ favourite over the course of Euro 2020, with his industrious displayers.

The 19-year-old was introduced as a second half substitute during the final at Wembley on Sunday and was selected to take the decisive penalty, afer Jordan Pickford’s save from Jorginho kept England’s hopes alive.

Gianluigi Donnarumma guessed correctly and dived to his left to parry Saka’s effort.

Aubameyang wrote on Instagram: “Proud of you my little bro. This will build your success, you will see.”

The official Arsenal Twitter account, meanwhile, added: “Football can be so cruel. But for your personality. For your character. For your bravery… We’ll always be proud of you.

“And we can’t wait to have you back with us.”
