Euro 2020: Mourinho predicts team to reach final

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has said he would be disappointed if England does not reach the final of Euro 2020.

The Three Lions beat Germany 2-0 on Tuesday, to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Goals in the second half from Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane clinched a famous win at Wembley.

It was England’s first win over Germany in a tournament knockout match since they won the World Cup in 1966.

England will face Ukraine next and, if they progress, a semi-final meeting with Denmark or the Czech Republic awaits.

“I watched the game that I was expecting to watch,” Mourinho told talkSPORT.

“A big game, the duals were there. Both teams respect each other a lot but England, in my opinion, were very solid, very solid and in the right moment they were there.

“They had that bit of luck you need, too. I’m really happy for Southgate and the players and the England fans because it’s a great moment.

“I’m thinking that maybe it is coming home but it’s not yet coming home. We need to be balanced now, there’s still a long way to go.

“I don’t see England losing against one of the four teams they can play in the quarter-final or semi-final but you need to respect football. France are not there because they didn’t respect the game.

“I think they are ready for everything and I will be really disappointed if they don’t get to the final.”
