Europa League final: Prize money for Villarreal, Man United revealed

 


UEFA will pay Villarreal €8,500,000 (£7.5m/$10m) for winning this year’s Europa League ahead of Manchester United.

The Europe top football governing body will also pay Man United €4,500,000 (£4m/$5m) for losing the Europa League final to Villarreal, Manchester Evening News reports.

Villarreal defeated Man United 11-10 on penalties to win the Europa League after the match ended 1-1 after 120 minutes on Wednesday night.

Gerard Moreno and Edinson Cavani scored for Villarreal and Man United respectively in Gdansk.
