Europa League: Arteta Receives Triple Injury Boost ahead of Villarreal Second leg

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, could have Kieran Tierney, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang feature in their crucial Europa League semi-final second leg clash with Villarreal on Thursday.

Aubameyang is in contention to start against the LaLiga side, having returned to action after contracting malaria.

The striker came on late in the first leg and played 77 minutes of the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Arteta said: “He played well [vs Newcastle] and he felt much better than the days before that. Obviously, scoring a goal is really important for him as well, so he’s in a good place.”

Also, Tierney and Lacazette are back in full training, but Arteta will make a late call on their involvement.

Tierney has been out since the start of April with a knee problem, while Lacazette sat out Arsenal’s last three matches with a hamstring injury.
