EPL: Man United Agree to Sign Tom Heaton

Manchester United have agreed to a deal to sign goalkeeper, Tom Heaton, after holding talks with the Aston Villa star in the past few weeks.

According to the Mirror UK, Heaton will move to Man United as a free agent as his contract at Aston Villa expires this summer.

The former England goalkeeper will bring quality back-up and competition for Man United’s keepers as they already have David de Gea and Dean Henderson in a fierce battle to be the club’s number one shot-stopper.

The 35-year-old has been at Aston Villa for two years but lost his place as the club’s number one keeper to Emiliano Martinez.

Heaton had spent six years at Burnley in the past before joining Aston Villa in 2019.

He began his career at Man United, signing as a trainee in 2002 and making a series of appearances for the Red Devils’ youth teams before eventually joining Cardiff City on a permanent deal eight years later.
