Joshua Plans To Have Seven Children

Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has revealed he intends to have as many as seven children as he plans for life after boxing.

Joshua, who holds three of the four heavyweight world titles, has one son Joseph, five, with dance teacher and yoga instructor Nicole Osbourne.

The couple are no longer together and Joshua is intensely private about his personal life, but has opened up to explain why he wants a big family.

“I want to have loads [of children],” Joshua said As a guest on the Jonathan Ross show.

“Someone said to me, which makes sense, when you’re young, you don’t want to have kids, but when you’re older and settled down and retired you wish that you had more kids around you, so I’m just looking ahead – loads for me is probably another six.”

Joshua also revealed he would like his son, who is nicknamed ‘JJ’, to learn from his boxing career.

“I would like him to watch me fight, I don’t mind,” Joshua added. “What I’d explain to him, more so being a fighter, it’s about chatting to him and saying, ‘This is where I lost, this is how I felt, but I didn’t give up’.

“He’s at that age now where if he’s not good at something he doesn’t want to do it. So I try and express to him, ‘Even though you’re not good at it yet, practise makes perfect’.”

Joshua and Tyson Fury are expected to formally announce their fight next week having agreed on a venue.

The bout, which could earn each man £100million, is likely to take place in Saudi Arabia in late July or early August.

And Joshua added: “I’ve signed my side of the deal. We’ve sent him [Tyson] a good offer, one I’m sure he won’t refuse. He wants the fight, no doubt about it. So do I and more than me and him, the whole public want it.

“I put my crystal ball out there and I say it’s going to happen this year 100 per cent.”
