Former Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin was arrested for assaulting his parents in Envigado, Colombia, on Thursday morning.

Guarin had asked his team Millonarios for a few days off due to personal issues and didn't participate in any recent training sessions.

Two videos have been released on social media after Guarin's arrest, with the one showing the 34-year-old yelling at a policeman, with the other documenting him aggressively asking someone to stop taking videos.

As reported to journalist Guillermo Arango, Millonarios will stand by the player and provide him with any help he needs.

Meanwhile, the police major general revealed that Guarin was under the influence of some substances when he was arrested.

"He physically attacked his parents, who asked for him be taken away by the police," the police general said.

Guarin played for Boca Juniors in 2005/06, before moving to Europe to join Saint-Etienne. Two years later he moved to Porto and then to Inter, before joining Shanghai Shenhua.

He returned to South America with Vasco da Gama and this year he signed Milionarios from whom he is soon expected to depart.
