‘You’ll be Embarrassed’ – Ferdinand Blasts Rudiger after Chelsea’s 2 -0 Win Over Atletico

Former Manchester United defender and football pundit, Rio Ferdinand has told Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger, that he will be ’embarrassed’ for his theatrics that played a role in getting Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic sent off in Chelsea’s 2-0 Champions League win at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

The German defender had thrown himself to the turf after getting an elbow into the chest from Savic, leading to the Atletico Madrid defender being promptly shown a red card.

The La Liga leaders were already 1-0 down at this stage after Hakim Ziyech had put Chelsea ahead in the first half. Emerson Palmieri made it 2-0 and 3-0 on aggregate for Blues with his late effort.

Ferdinand was less impressed by Rudiger’s conduct late on in the match

“Rudiger, I think will be embarrassed at the way he’s gone down,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

“But on the other hand, he might say, I’ve got him sent off and we’ve won the game, we’ve seen it out.”
