Michael Owen Reacts as Arsenal Defeat Tottenham 2-1

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has reacted to Arsenal’s Premier League derby 2-1 victory against Liverpool on Sunday.

Arsenal came from behind to beat Jose Mourinho’s side at Emirates, thanks to a strike from Martin Odegaard and a penalty from Alexandre Lacazette.

Erik Lamela did score for Tottenham in the 33rd minute of the encounter.

Reacting, Owen took to his Twitter handle to claim that Arsenal “thoroughly deserved” their victory over Tottenham but admitted that the Gunners were lucky to be awarded their penalty in the second half.

He wrote: “I’d say @Arsenal thoroughly deserved their North London Derby victory. But their winning goal was never a penalty.

“Big statement from Arteta. He dropped his best player for disciplinary reasons and still won. @SpursOfficial very disappointing.”

Arsenal’s next game is against Olympiacos in the Europa League on Thursday.
