LeicesteCity vs Sheffield United: Rodgers Reacts to Iheanacho’s hat-trick in 5-0 Win

Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers, has reacted to striker Kelechi Iheanacho’s hat-trick in his side’s 5-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday.

Rodgers said he was delighted with Iheanacho’s three goals against Sheffield, adding that the Nigerian international has improved because he trains so hard.

A hat-trick from Kelechi Iheanacho and a goal each from Ayoze Perez and Ethan Ampadu (OG) gave Leicester all three points against Sheffield at the King Power Stadium.

Reacting, Rodgers said at his post-match press conference, “I’m delighted. I have always said you can see the improvements in him [Kelechi Iheanacho] day on day. He trains so hard.

“He works well up there with Jamie, the combination is really good. The two finishes, the first one is a bit closer, but you’ve got to get there, and off his weaker foot, it’s a nice cushioned finish. It’s the same with the second one a bit further out.

“The third one is a wonderful strike. He’s clever, he’s dropped into space we wanted him to, turns and fires in.

“Tactically, he had a job to do when he was defending. He did that very well. His overall game was very good.”

Iheanacho will now hope to continue his impressive display for Leicester when they face Manchester United next Sunday in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
