Why it’s Always Difficult for Man City to Play Liverpool – Guardiola

Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, has insisted that it’s always difficult for his team to play against Liverpool because the Reds is a top club with history, players, managers and backroom staff.

Guardiola’s men will face Liverpool in a Premier League tie on Sunday evening at Anfield.

Man City head to the match after beating Burnley 2-0 in their previous Premier League clash on Wednesday.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday, Guardiola said: “Of course it would be important to win.

“If you beat Liverpool, United, – it is important to beat them, I cannot deny it. It’s always difficult against Liverpool.

“It’s a top club, top history, players, manager, backroom staff. Always difficult.”

He added, “It’s not about how many years (since City’s last win at Anfield), or whatever – there are 38 Premier League games – this is one more.

“Not long ago, we were 12th in the table, and now we are first. I am not concerned more about the Liverpool game more than the rest.”

The kick-off time for the match is 5:30 pm.
