EPL: Total Amount Arsenal Have Saved after Ozil, Mustafi, Kolasinac Exits Revealed

Arsenal have saved around £12.7m in wages, following a clear out in the January transfer window.

Shkodran Mustafi left for Schalke on deadline day, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock joined West Brom and Newcastle on loan respectively.

Mesut Ozil and Sokratis both saw their contracts terminated six months earlier.

Sead Kolasinac also left for Schalke on loan, while William Saliba switched to Nice for the remainder of the season.

The biggest saving came from the termination of Ozil’s contract ahead of his move to Fenerbahce. He was on £350,000 per week.

Sokratis, who has joined Olympiacos on a free transfer, was on around £90,000 per week, according to wtfoot.com.

And Macey, who has joined Hibernian, was paid around £10,000 per week.

That amounts to £450,000 per week from permanent exits. And with 21 weeks before contracts traditionally end on June 30, that translates to a potential saving of £9.45million.

Kolasinac is on £100,000 per week according to Spotrac.com, while Maitland-Niles is on £35,000 and Willock is paid £20,000 each week.

That is another £155,000 off the weekly wage billor £3.25m between now and June 30.

That makes a total of £12.7m, although that figure doesn’t take into account any settlements made over the early termination of contracts.
