'Firmino should sit on the bench for three or four games' - Carragher calls for Jota Liverpool selection

A former Anfield favourite thinks his old club carry a greater threat in the final third when the Portuguese star is playing

Diogo Jota takes pressure off Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, according to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, who says Roberto Firmino "should just sit on the bench for three or four games".

Jota has made a hugely impressive start to his Liverpool career since moving to Anfield from Wolves for £41 million ($54m) in September.

The 23-year-old has hit seven goals in his first 11 outings for the Reds and is now pushing for a regular starting spot ahead of Firmino, who has only scored once in 12 appearances this season.
