The former AC Milan striker admits that he was "not a good manager" and is pleased to be out of the profession
Netherlands legend Marco van Basten has claimed that being a manager is bad for your health.
As a player, Van Basten was one of the outstanding forwards of his generation, scoring a memorable goal for the Netherlands in the 1988 European Championship final against the USSR and starring for the likes of Ajax and AC Milan.
Injury forced him to retire and, in 2004, he moved into management. He had stints with the Netherlands, Ajax, Heerenveen and AZ, but admits that the job wasn’t for him and he is delighted to no longer be doing it.
