Leeds boss Bielsa not giving up on Man Utd winger James

Leeds United want to take Daniel James on loan from Manchester United.

Marcelo Bielsa wants another creative player and Leeds are targeting James after cooling their interest in Liverpool's Harry Wilson and being rebuffed by Rangers over Ryan Kent, says the Mirror.

James nearly joined Leeds on transfer deadline day in January 2019 from Swansea only for the Swans to torpedo the deal at the last minute.

James, 22, joined United last summer for £15million and made 33 Premier League appearances in his debut campaign at Old Trafford, scoring three goals and contributing six assists.

He lost his starting place towards the end of last season to Mason Greenwood and Leeds feel United may be prepared to loan him out to give him regular top-flight football.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer started him in Saturday's defeat at home to Crystal Palace before replacing him at half-time with Greenwood.

James is from Yorkshire and Leeds feel he would be interested in spending the campaign on loan at Elland Road.
