Trent Alexander-Arnold Named Premier League Young Player Of The Season

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season.

The 21-year-old has beaten Manchester United trio Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to the award, as well as Jack Grealish, Dean Henderson, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic after a stellar season at Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold provided the Premier League champions with 13 assists and four goals in 49 apperances in all competitions, as well as keeping 12 clean sheets alongside the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson.

It's fair to say he has now become an indispensable cog in Jurgen Klopp's side.

The right-back, who also finds himself on the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Season, alongside teammates Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson, featured in all 38 Premier League games for Liverpool in the 2019/20 campaign, as well as becoming a key member in this season's Champions League.

Following his award-winning efforts this season, former Chelsea player Graeme Le Saux said the 21-year-old has 'revolutionsed' the full-back role.

"I can't ever remember one player have such an influence on his team at right-back as Trent has on Liverpool, let alone from a 21-year-old," Le Saux told the official Premier League website.

"He's adding more goals to his game, his assists record is second to none among defenders. I can see him continuing to improve in the environment he is playing in at Liverpool."
