Liverpool Plot £35 Million Bid For Relegated Star As They Seek Midfield Cover

Liverpool are plotting a shock £35 million transfer for Bournemouth's David Brooks as they seek midfield cover following the departure of Adam Lallana.

Jurgen Klopp is in need of some reinforcements for his side's Premier League defense next season.

And reports claim the German boss is eyeing a swoop for Brooks who was relegated with Bournemouth last season.

The Cherries are resigned to losing the Welshman with the Reds set to pounce this summer, according to widespread reports.

Brooks had a stellar campaign in his debut season in the Premier League after joining from Sheffield United for £12 million.

He chipped in with 7 league goals in the 2018/19 term but only scored one goal last season after an injury-hit campaign.

Despite penning a new deal in March 2019, Brooks is likely to leave the Vitality Stadium with Liverpool keen on adding him to their squad.

The Premier League champions have released Lallana while Xherdan Shaqiri may also leave Anfield this summer.

So, there's space for Brooks who can operate in a central and wide role.

Further reports claim Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Bayern Munich's world-class midfielder Thiago.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos.

The left-back is on the verge of completing a deal in a transfer worth a reported £13 million.
