Koeman jets into Barcelona as board prepares for Setien axe

Holland coach Ronald Koeman has emerged as favourite for the Barcelona post.

Marca says Koeman has emerged as the frontrunner to replace coach Quique Setien on the Blaugrana bench.

Setien's time as Barcelona boss is up after just seven months, following failure to claim the LaLiga Santander title, which was won by Real Madrid, then an 8-2 humiliation at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final.

Barcelona have already looked into Koeman's situation, and the biggest problem is that he has a contract with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) as he leads the national team.

So before there is any 'yes' to Barcelona, he has to come to an agreement to leave his post as Netherlands coach.

The Dutchman was pictured at Barcelona's airport on Sunday.

Barcelona will have an extraordinary meeting of the directors on Monday where the future of the club is set to be hammered out.
