Ex-Arsenal fullback Traore: Juventus players and Delneri wanted me to stay

Former Arsenal fullback Armand Traore has recalled the season he had on-loan with Juventus.
Traore, now a free agent, was with Juve for the 2010/11 campaign.
Acknowledging he had problems with his fitness, he told TuttoJuve: "True, but I don't want it to be an alibi. The initial plan had always been to return to Arsenal, but at the end of the season I remember speaking with Juventus: the Senators of the team (Giorgio) Chiellini and (Alessandro) Del Piero were present at that meeting, the directors (Beppe) Marotta and (Fabio) Paratici, Mr. (Gigi) Delneri.
"They asked me if I'd like to come back, they understood that for me it was a very difficult season. It was a beautiful gesture.
"I said yes, but during the holidays Delneri lost his job and I had no more news from Juventus. My chance vanished there. Years later, when I think about it, intuition tells me that if the coach had stayed I would have signed a new contract.
"My career could have gone differently, but everything happens for a reason.
