Those behind the proposed takeover bid at Newcastle United have identified Real Madrid's Gareth Bale as a 'priority' signing.
That's according to Spanish publication Marca, who report that the prospective new owners have earmarked Bale, who joined Los Blancos in 2013 for a then-world record £85.3m, as a top transfer target alongside former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino.
In addition to their supposed interest, Real Madrid are 'open' to a deal being struck.
It is believed that the Spanish club would not demand any more than €20 million for Bale - a figure that Newcastle 'would comfortably be able to pay under their prospective owners.'
Meanwhile the Premier League side could match the €17 million per year salary.
Bale's time at the Bernabeu has been far from perfect.
He has stuggled to play regular first team football under Zinedine Zidane, and was close to joining Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning at one point last summer.
But it appears he will once again have suitors this summer, including the lure of Newcastle United and their potential big bucks.
As well as the Welsh winger, Newcastle are also interested in bringing Mauricio Pochettino to the club, someone who has always admired the talents of Bale.
The North East side have also been linked with moves for Max Allegri to replace Steve Bruce as manager, but Marca claim the Argentinian is their desired coach.
Mike Ashley is currently in 'advanced talks' to sell Newcastle United, with the owner's era 'closer than ever' to coming to an end.
