Real Madrid Star Nacho Family Member Dies After CoronaVirus Battle



A relative of Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has died after battle with the deadly coronavirus.

In Spain, More than 1,000 people have died so far due to the pandemic, with Madrid one of the most affected cities in the world.

Nacho, who has played all his career at Real Madrid, has also played for the Spain national team.




According to the player’s brother Alex, who plays at Cadiz, made it known publicly that ‘an elder member of the family has died’.

‘it’s very strange, I’m gong through this difficult time like everyone else,” Alex Fernandez told Diario de Cadiz.

‘It’s super strange. But I’m doing the best I can with my family.

‘In Madrid, there are people in our family that have tested positive for the virus and an elder member has now died.

Alex, who previously played at Real Madrid revealed that the rest of his family is safe at home.

The 27-year-old added that being in such a situation is ‘impossible to expect’.

He added: ‘It’s something you never imagine you will go through. You’re never prepared for it, it’s impossible to expect.

‘I always make contact with the family and apart from what happened with our elderly relative, we’re all safe, at home.

‘We will stay at home for two more weeks, that’s the feeling based on what’s on the news.’



Over 18,000 people in Spain have tested positive for coronavirus.
