Man City Coach Pep Guardiola Provides Kevin de Bruyne And Aymeric Laporte Injury Updates

Manchester City play Arsenal on Wednesday night, and Guardiola has admitted he isn’t sure whether the duo can play against the Gunners.

Pep Guardiola decided to rest De Bruyne against Manchester United for the Derby last week after he picked up a new injury in the Carabao Cup final.

With City’s Premier League title defence is all but over, Guardiola has been reluctant to play his besy players in the Premier League if they aren’t 100 per cent fit.

He could continue this on Wednesday night, when City host top four contenders Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Guardiola confirmed that both De Bruyne and Laporte have returned to training, but the match against Arsenal may be too soon for the duo.

“Let me see. Kevin, Laport have been training over the last two days,” said Guardiola.

“I don’t know if they can play tomorrow.

“We’ll have another session and the rest will be okay.”

Laporte has missed much of the season through injury, although he returned to the squad in February.

The Frenchman made just three League appearances for City, before he suffered another injury setback.

But Guardiola confirmed that he’d miss up to three weeks of action, with the 2nd leg against Real Madrid a realistic target for a return.

Meanwhile, Leroy Sane could also return to the team soon.

Arsenal travel to the Etihad Stadium with the Citizens hoping ready to react fully after their 2-0 defeat to rivals Manchester United.
