Liverpool Star Alisson Ruled Out Of Atletico Madrid UCL 2nd Leg

Liverpool fans are facing a nightmare after it was confirmed Goalkeeper Alisson Becker would miss next week's Champions League match with Atletico Madrid.

Coach Jurgen Klopp confirmed the injury Alisson picked up ahead of the Chelsea match will make him miss the Bournemouth game this weekend and the UCL match.

And Liverpool fans are worried Alisson's injury hamper their chances of reaching the Champions League next round.

Alisson’s replacement Adrian was poor against Chelsea in the FA Cup and fans are very fearful going into the Atletico game.

Liverpool are now 1-0 behind after Atletico Madrid won the 1st leg in Madrid thanks to Saul Niguez’s early goal.

And they face off again this Wednesday at Anfield with Liverpool needing to overturn their defeat to continue their defence of the Champions League.

Defeat would surely end their season with the Premier League title already wrapped up and the Chelsea defeat saw them knocked out of the FA Cup last week.

“Unfortunately Alisson will miss out,” Klopp said today.

“He had a little problem in training before the Chelsea match. We all thought it was a little issue and it was clear he would not play, the plan was he would be on the bench.

“There we decided, ‘Come on, we don’t have to take any risks’ so left him out of the squad. He had a scan the next day and they found something. So now he's unavailable. We will see maybe next week [out], for sure, and then we will see.”

And when aked specifically on the Atletico game, Klopp said: “No, next week he's not available.

“I can't say no for the Merseyside Derby but I'm not sure if he will be available. He is not available for now, not for tomorrow and not the coming week.

“Then we have to judge the situation again. I believe after the international break he would be 100 per cent, whatever we can get before that we will see.”

Liverpool are facing their toughest period of the season having lost three of their last four matches across all competitions.
