De Bruyne A Doubt For Manchester Derby" - Man City Coach Pep Guardiola CONFIRMS

Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has a new problem ahead the Premier League clash against rivals Manchester United this weekend.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne could miss the match against Manchester United this weekend, Pep Guardiola confirmed.

De Bruyne played no part in Wednesday night's FA Cup clash vs Sheffield Wednesday, with fans believing he was just being rested.

De Bruyne has been a crucial player to City's success this season and is now on track to break Thierry Henry's assist record for a single Premier League season.

He scored the winning goal for Guardiola's team against Real Madrid last week side at the Bernabeu in the Champions League.

The Belgian was not part of the 18-man squad for the trip to Hillsborough on Wednesday night.

However, Guardiola has now confirmed that De Bruyne had a back injury problem.

"Kevin had a problem, he's not fit," said the City boss.

"He fell down in a bad way on his back. I'm not sure how long he will be out. I don't know."

De Bruyne was involved in a bad collision during the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

He fell down awkwardly on his back, which kept him out of Wednesday's match.

Now, City travel to Old Trafford this weekend to take on rivals Manchester United.

The Citizens are ready to player for their pride in the Manchester derby.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United team are trying to enter in the Premier League's top four spots.

A defeat for United against Manchester City would have a bad effect on plans to qualify for next season's Champions League.
