Man City Boss Pep Guardiola Reacts to Messi Quitting Barcelona




Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has dismissed rumours that Lionel Messi will leave Barcelona this summer.



Messi has reportedly grown frustrated at the Nou Camp, and can leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Messi had a fall out with sporting director Eric Abidal at Barcelona.


Abidal first accused some of the Barcelona players of not giving everything they could for former manager Ernesto Valverde.


Messi reacted angrily to Abidal’s statement, and wrote on Instagram that he should mention names and not criticise the whole squad which would start unnecessary rumours.


After it went public that a clause in Lionel Messi’s contract would let him to leave for free at the end of the season, he has been linked with a move Manchester City.



However, Pep Guardiola has revealed that he believes Messi will stay in Catalonia.


“Messi is a Barcelona player,” said Guardiola.


“He will stay at Barcelona.


“This is my wish. I won't talk about players at another club.
“I believe he might finish his career there.”


According to The Athletic, Messi is unhappy at the Nou Camp right now.


Messi is very worried that Barcelona won’t be where the wants them to be over the last years of his career.


He is also concerned about the on-field performances this season.


Barcelona started the current La Liga season with a 1-0 defeat at Athletic Bilbao.
