Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says Wilfred Ndidi has made “a miraculous recovery” after undergoing a minor surgery for a knee injury.
Ndidi has missed the Foxes last three games in all competitions as a result of the setback.
The former Premier League champions also failed to record a win in the three games.
The Foxes forced Aston Villa to a 1-1 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at the King Power Stadium and lost to Southampton and Burnley.
Rodgers initially stated that Ndidi could be out for up to six weeks after the surgery, but the former Liverpool manager revealed that the Nigerian midfielder has made a surprise recovery and could be in the squad for Wednesday’s clash against West Ham United.
“There’s a great chance he (Ndidi) could be in the squad tomorrow,”Rodgers told a news conference on Tuesday.
“He’s made a miraculous recovery. It’s been 11 days.
“”It’s a great testament to him and the medical team. We didn’t want to rush him, but over the last few days, he’s been fantastic. He’s had tests and come through them well.
“It’s a real colossal player for us. He covers a lot of space for our attacking players. There aren’t many better than him. It’s a huge boost for us.”
Ndidi has featured in 20 Premier League games for Leicester City this season and scored two goals.
