I'm Open To New Projects - Mauricio Pochettino Hints At Next Job

Mauricio Pochettino has hinted he could return to football management sooner than expected after being sacked at Tottenham. Pochettino was sacked last month after a poor run of form in weeks and Tottenham were 14th on the Premier League table as the time.

Within 24hours after his sack, Pochettino was immediately replaced by Jose Mourinho the next morning in shocking turn of events at the North London club.

47-year-old Pochettino has been linked with a sensational return to north London following the dismissal of Unai Emery at Arsenal while he is also being talked about as the next manager at Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Speaking about his next job, Pochettino told Fox Sports in Argentina: 'There are a lot of clubs and attractive projects for me to take on.

'But, for the time being, the most important thing is for me to clear my head after five-and-a-half incredible seasons with Tottenham.

'My aim is to seek the ability to rebuild myself and get my self-motivation back.

'It is my intention to return to manage in Europe. It is hard for me to imagine a project in Argentina. However for the sake of my family, I would not refuse to work over here.
'But now I need to be calm for a few days and see what happens. I haven't had a lot of time to digest what has happened with me.

'My first decision was to come back to Argentina, return to my home and see family and friends. But I expect to return to Europe to make decisions on my future.

'My best decision was to come to Argentina to switch off for 10 days. At my age I don't need a lot of time to recover. I am open to listen to projects put before me.'

Pochettino had been manager of Tottenham since 2014, and after a five-and-a-half year spell in charge, he is making the most of an extended rest.

However since his dismissal he has already been linked to many topclubs across Europe.

Among those is United, who have targeted Pochettino before.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future looks increasingly uncertain and the club could pull the trigger on their former striker if they lose to both Tottenham and Manchester City this week.

Arsenal are also on the hunt for a new permanent manager after thedecision to axe Emery last week.

It remains to be seen if Pochettino would move to Spurs' bitter rivals, who are looking increasingly likely to miss out on the top four once again.

Bayern Munich are also needing a new boss after they parted company with Niko Kovac recently.

Hansi Flick is currently in chargeof first-team affairs but his inexperience could prompt them to consider Pochettino.
