Hazard Can't Replace Ronaldo - Barca Star Lionel Messi Ahead Of El-Classico

Barcelona Star Lionel Messi has backed Real Madrid summer signing Eden Hazard to rediscover his best form ahead of Wednesday's El Classico.

Hazard has scored just one goal since signing for Real Madrid in the summer from Chelsea for a huge £150m.

The Red Madrid chiefs had hoped Hazard could replace Ronaldo with his top-notch performances at Chelsea but the Belgian is yet to live up to the expectations.

However, Lionel Messi believes Hazard can rediscover his best form but will find it very difficult to replace Ronaldo at Real Madrid.

Speaking about Hazard, Messi said: 'Hazard is a top-quality player. He is a different footballer who can break defense but I think he is far different from Cristiano, with different factors.

'It will always be difficult to replace Ronaldo, but Hazard is still one of the best players in football.'

The two best clubs in La Liga are set to face off at Camp Nou tomorrow, with only goal difference separating both teams after 16 games so far this 2019-20 season.

Barca failed to get more points at the top of La Liga after a 2-2 draw against Real Sociedad in their last match, but Real Madrid also missed the opportunity to go top playing a 1-1 against Valencia.

Speaking about the El Classico on Wednesday, Messi acknowledged: "Each time we play at the Bernabeu, many things happen. They play more attacking football because they feel at home and people think they can defeat us for that.

"In Calatonia, at Camp Nou, they play a different approach to the match, playing a little more defensive, they keep close watch and go on the counter-attack at every opportunity because they have the quality upfront.

"At Real Madrid's stadium, we play the same 90minutes. Here the game becomes wilder and is always very complicated.
