Ex Juve Boss Max Allegri Wants Manchester United Job, Rejects Arsenal

Former Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri wants the Manchester United job despite having interests from rivals Arsenal. The 52-year-old has started learning English as he eyes a Premier League job.

Allegri was listed as one of the likely managers to take the Arsenal job after Coach Unai Emery was sacked last month.

But, According to The Independent, Allegri wants the Manchester United job more than anybody else in England.

He has been out of work since leaving Juventus at the end of last season, as Maurizio Sarri replaced him in Turin.

He also took Juve to the Champions League finals of 2015 and 2017, losing to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

The report claims Allegri has made it clear to other clubs who have approached him, that he wants the Manchester United job.

At the moment, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job is safe but there are fears the Norwegian will not make the end of the season.

That’s partially due to reports that Mauricio Pochettino wants the United job.

He has made his availability known in the last few days which suggests Allegri’s hopes of landing the job are slim.

Allegri was reportedly interviewed for the Arsenal job back in 2018 when Arsene Wenger confirmed that his time at the club had come to an end.

But it was Unai Emery who blew away the board with his detailed presentations about each individual player at the club including their strengths and weaknesses.
