2019 African Player Of The Year: Salah, Mane And Mahrez Named In Top 3 Finalists (Details)


Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has missed out from the final shortlist for 2019 African Player of the Year award.

CAF announced the top three Finalists on Sunday via its official and verified Twitter handle.

Egypt Star Mohamed Salah, Senegal hero Sadio Mane and Algeria Ace Riyad Mahrez, are the three players on the final shortlist for the award.

For the Youth Player of the Year award, Nigerian stars Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen are still on the shortlist to win the award.


Morocco International Achraf Hakimi is the last person in the final shortlist for the award.

For the Women’s Player of The Year award, Nigeria international is also on the final shortlist.

She will contest for the award alongside South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana and Cameroon star Njoya Ajara.

The final shortlist of voting for the Male and female African Player of the Year, also the male and female Coach of the Year was chosen by Head Coaches, Captains of senior national teams from CAF member associations and Technical Directors.


The winners for the awards will be announced during the ceremony on Tuesday January 7, 2020 in Hurghada, Egypt.
