Wolves winger Adama Traore shuns Spain as he switches nationality to represent Mali

In-form Wolverhampton Wanderers winger, Adama Traore has switched nationality to represent Mali on the International level instead of Spain.

The 23-year-old footballer who was born in Spain to Malian parents represented Spain at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels in March 2018.

Adama Traore began his career with Barcelona in 2004, appearing mainly for the reserves. In 2015 he signed for Aston Villa and a year later, he went to Middlesbrough, before joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2018.

The winger will now be looking to help Mali secure qualification for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON). With the qualifiers starting this month, Mali will face Guinea, Namibia, and Chad in the Group A of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
