Wenger Reacts To Man City’s Loss To Liverpool.

According to Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola would be devastated after losing to their Premier League title rivals Liverpool. Manchester City slipped nine points behind Jurgen Klopp’s men to the fourth position after losing 3-1 at Anfield on Sunday.

Fabinho scored the first goal to give Liverpool the lead with a superb strike 22 seconds after Manchester City were denied a penalty.

The second goal came from Mohamed Salah in the 13th minute, at half-time, it was 2-0 in favour of the Reds. Sadio Mane put the game to bed shortly after half-time with another header. Bernardo Silva scored the only consolation goal for City but that wasn’t enough as Liverpool held on to win 3-1 and move eight points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Speaking after the game, former Arsenal manager said: ‘First of all, to lose a big game is terrible.

‘You saw the reactions from both of the managers tonight. You can see the pressure they are under and how much a game like that means to both of them. ‘Pep will go home and be absolutely devastated, more than you think. If you think a quantity, add 100% and you might get close to that. ‘Overall, nine points is too big a difference for Man City after 12 games.’

Reacting to the match, Klopp said: ‘They were good. Oh, they were good and we had to defend with all we had but we scored incredible goals. ‘It was so tough to play, the intensity of the game was so clear. It was all worth it, really great. The boys were completely focused and concentrated. ‘It was so good. It is the only way we can beat City, maybe other teams can do it a different way but this is the only way we can beat them.’

Liverpool currently sit on top of the Premier League table with 34 points winning 11 games and drawing just one. They are followed by Leicester City and Chelsea in the second and third positions respectively. Manchester City slip to 4th position with 25points.
