Thierry Henry has surprisingly been named the new head coach of MLS side Montreal Impact.
The Frenchman has signed a two-year deal with the option to extend by a further year.
It is the 42-year-old's first managerial job since he was sacked by Monaco in January after just three months in charge where he managed just four wins in 20 games.
Arsenal legend Henry is familiar with the MLS, having finished his playing career in the States with New York Red Bulls.
'It's an honor to become head coach of the Montreal Impact and return to the MLS,' Henry said in a statement on Thursday following his appointment.
'It's a league that I know well where I had a great time. Being in Quebec, in Montreal, which has a huge multicultural heritage, is something extraordinary. I have always had an eye on this club and now I am there.'
Henry replaces Wilmer Cabrera, who left Impact last month after the club decided against renewing his contract.
Montreal finished ninth in the MLS's Eastern Conference last season.
There are some familiar faces at Montreal with Henry taking charge of his former France team-mate Bacary Sagna and former Barcelona team-mate Bojan.
Henry will be presented to the media on Monday and will officially take over the reins in mid-January when the MLS pre-season begins.
