Olayinka Rated Slavia Prague’s 2nd Best Player In Draw At Barcelona

Nigeria’s one-cap forward, Peter Olayinka, has been rated as Slavia Prague’s second best player in the Czech side’s impressive goalless draw with Barcelona in a Champions League clash at Camp Nou on Tuesday night.

Popular Czech sports daily and online news channel, iSport, rated only the goalkeeper, Ondrej Kolar, higher than Olayinka in its appraisal of the 14 Slavia Prague players that had playing time against Barcelona.

Kolar was rated 10/10 for his heroic safe ball handing form between the posts which ensured that the Jindrich Trpisovsky’s men didn’t concede in the game when the Lionel Messi-led Barca had them under the cosh.

Olayinka who netted an own goal in Slavia Prague’s 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the reverse fixture at the Sinobo Stadium Prague a forthnight ago, was obviously his side’s most enterprising outfield player at Camp Nou. And iSport duly rated him 9/10.

“After Kolár’s best glory, [Gerard] Pique and [Nelson] Semedo committed fouls and they got a yellow cards on that. He [Olayinka] tossed his sword between Messi and Vidal, finding in great positions, Stanciu. Great active performance,” iSport said of Olayinka’s sterling performance.

Slavia Prague are still bottom of Group F on two points, behind Barcelona (8 points), Borussia Dortmund (7) and Inter Milan (4) after four rounds of matches.

Olayinka has scored one Champions League goal for the Czech champions – in four appearances. He was on target in their 1-1 draw against Inter Milan at San Siro on the matchday-one of Group F.

The former 36 Lions of Lagos and KAA Gent of Belgium striker has also netted four goals and provided two assists in 11 Czech Fortuna Liga appearances for Slavia Prague so far this term.

Slavia Prague will welcome FK Teplice in their next Fortuna Liga matchday-16 clash on Sunday, November 2019.
