Man City Coach Pep Guardiola To Face NO FA Action After Referee Confrontation.

Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola will face no punishment from the English FA after he allegedly confronted Referee Micheal Oliver. The Spaniard approached Referee Michael Oliver after the match, and was seen remonstrating with the fourth official on numerous occasions.

Guardiola felt aggrieved after a number of key decisions appeared to go Liverpool’s way.

In particular, he was furious that his team weren’t awarded two penalties during the match, as Reds defender Trent Alexander-Arnold appeared to handle the ball on two occasions.

The first incident occurred just 22 seconds before Liverpool’s Fabinho scored the opener.

Alexander-Arnold appeared to outstretch his arm as the ball struck his forearm.

Michael Oliver chose not to award a penalty for the incident, and VAR agreed with the decision.

Guardiola was left fuming on the touchline after, what seemed to be, a clear penalty was denied for the champions.

After the match, Guardiola shook the hand of Oliver, while seemingly sarcastically saying: "Thank you so much, thank you so much."

But, the Manchester City manager insisted he wasn't being sarcastic with his comments.

“It was not sarcastic, it was ‘thank you so much’," he told reporters after the game had finished.

“I say it all the time to my colleagues.”
