Man City Coach Pep Guardiola Confirms Goalkeeper Ederson Injury Ahead Of Liverpool Clash

Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he is not sure if Goalkeeper Ederson would be fit enough to play against Liverpool this weekend after his injury. Ederson was forced out of the club's 1-1 Champions League draw with Atalanta on Wednesday through injury.

City managed to scrape a point from the game with Ederson's replacement, Claudio Bravo, seeing red.

That meant Kyle Walker donning the gloves and the England international was able to keep a clean sheet.

And Guardiola has admitted he's unsure if Ederson will be fit for Sunday's crunch showdown with Liverpool.

His City side going into the game six points behind Jurgen Klopp's high-flying outfit.

And Guardiola said: "I don't know right now."

City could have beaten Atalanta had they managed to score a penalty, which was missed by Gabriel Jesus.

And Guardiola has admitted the missed penalty changed the game.

"Definitely. Football is emotion," he said when quizzed on Jesus' miss.

"The second half we didn't do exactly what we should do. It was few chances conceded against one of the teams who create more. It was a perfect result away and we need one more point togo though.

"When we land in Manchester we will think about the next game in the Premier League."
